Services Bureau (ESB).
Bronx Shepherds provides Weatherization services to Bronx County.

WAP assists low-income eligible Homeowners and Tenants with FREE energy
conservation and Health and Safety in their homes.

Some items the Program may assist with are:
  • Heating System Repair/Replacement
  • Window/Exterior Door Repair/Replacement
  • Roof Insulation
  • Pipe Insulation
  • Wall Insulation
  • Fluorescent Lighting
  • Refrigerator Replacement
  • Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors
  • Water and Electric Conservation

Please note: An energy survey of the
home or building is necessary to determine
the needs.

Weatherization Facts:
Weatherization reduces average annual energy costs by $218 per household,
at current prices. For every $1 invested in the Program, Weatherization creates
$1.78 in energy related benefits.

Weatherization addresses such items as: Heating systems, windows and doors, insulation,
electric reduction measures, water conservation, health and safety measures etc.

Eligibility is based on household income relative to federal low-income guidelines. If a
household contains a member who receives
Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Public
Assistance, Food Stamps, or Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) benefits,
the
household is considered automatically eligible for weatherization services.
